England Korfball Competition Structure

National - Tier 1

Premier Division

10 teams. 9th and 10th are relegated to National League 2.

National - Tier 2

National League 2

10 teams. 1st is promoted, 2nd and 3rd play off for the second place. 9th and 10th are relegated.

Regional Leagues

Tier 3

The highest placed 1st team in each league (1st teams only table) goes into a six-team playoff for two National League 2 places.

Promotion & Relegation

What happens at the end of each season

Two down and two up between each tier. The Regional places are decided by a six-team playoff.

National League 2 to Premier Division

9th and 10th in the Premier Division are relegated to National League 2.
1st in National League 2 is promoted to the Premier Division.
2nd and 3rd in National League 2 play off, with the winner promoted.

Regional Leagues to National League 2

9th and 10th in National League 2 are relegated to their Regional League.
The highest placed 1st team in each Regional League enters the playoffs for two places.
The six teams are drawn into two groups of three and play each other once.
Each group winner plays the other group's runner-up. The winners are promoted.
If the draw repeats last season's groups, the teams drawn 5th and 6th are swapped.

1st placed in Midlands was Birmingham City, who were promoted to NL Premier. 2nd placed was Birmingham Panthers, who were not eligible for NL.
1st placed in Northern was Leeds Hurricanes, who would be in NL2 through their NL Promo position.
1st placed in Southern was Oxford City, who would be in NL2 through their NL Promo position.
